The other day i was roaming around on facebook looking for anything leaving cert related that may be of use to you guys. I stumbled upon something called the XLc project which is based in waterford. In a nutshell it helps ex-students (who have left school for whatever reasons) come back, study & sit exams. It’s not funded by the taxpayer, a lot of the teaching work is voluntary and what little funds they have are due to run out this year which means it’s curtains for this 12 year old project.

There you are… sweat rolling off you the night before the first leaving cert exam. It’s three million degrees outside, all your favourite films are just starting on TV and you happen to find loads of interesting stories and conversations online. You know that’s the way it’s gonna be, no matter how hard you work or how well prepared you are…

It’s panic mode for all you leaving cert students at the minute with the exams approaching like a freight train. One question. Not ‘what do you prefer – facebook or studying?’ that’s a bit obvious but rather ‘how much time are you spending on facebook when you should be studying?’ Is facebook wrecking your chances of passing your leaving cert?
