Hot off the virtual press, here’s what you’re saying about maths paper 2… surprisingly, the reaction seems to be pretty positive!
Earlier in the day it was geography and then the big one this afternoon – Maths (paper 1). By far and away the most hated leaving cert subject… high failure rates, poor numbers at honours level… the stats don’t lie. Today it seems Maths continued to perplex and frustrate most of you guys…
Some of you will love maths, some of you don’t mind it and will be pretty confident about passing leaving cert maths at the level you are taking it. Then there’s those of you that absolutely hate maths to the point were you just don’t wanna study it or take your leaving cert maths exam. You probably don’t see the point in maths and are wondering why you need all these x, y and z’s anyway!
A recent report shows that 1 in 2 maths teachers aren’t qualified to teach you maths. With maths failure rates on the rise every year, most of you need all the help you can get in this subject…
When you’re being taught about  a subject, you assume that your teacher is qualified to teach… you probably don’t even question their qualifications (i know i didn’t when i was at school). Surely that’s down to whoever hires them, whoever pays their wages and evaluates them.
On our maths course there are two broad types of proofs that we have to be able to do in trigenometry( there are some other more niggly bits but we can cover them later).
