Leaving Cert is stone age

Why is there such a big emphasis on rote learning still? We’re currently moving into the information age where skills like research and data comprehension are much MUCH more important than data retention. Admittedly you do need some basic level of knowledge so you don’t go back to the stone age when you can’t access the internet, but the amount that we’re expected to know off is ridiculous.

The leaving cert really needs to get with the times, and a relatively minor way to the way points are calculated isn’t gonna do it.
