Well hello thought it was about time to write something. I’m Craig and I am 18 if you need to know anymore about my subject choices or whatever you will find them in the little bio about me. So back to school, I have no idea why but this year was the first year that I didn’t mind going back and I am not worried about the leaving cert it could be that I know you get out what you put in and also I have had an awesome summer which explains the fact that I do not mind going back. I thought that it being leaving cert we would get little homework which would lead to more time to study but in my school that is not the case at all, the teacher’s are giving loads of homework like last year I would come away from my day and have homework in 2 of my 6 subjects, the subject I got least homework in was English and in the past week we have had more than he gave us in a month last year. I seem to be dealing well with it which is a good sign touch wood it continues.
Have any of you made study timetables? I did and then today we had a study seminar, these two teachers do it all the time and teach you note taking, setting goals, time management and also how to make a time table for your days and how to study better, as in not 3 hours straight but breaking that into blocks of 20-25 minutes and taking short breaks. So I am going to admit that the last many years of school study has never been a great priority last year I did study but not as much as I hoped I would but this year the only day that I will do no study is Friday. I have said to people college is not my first choice when I leave school so they thought oh he doesn’t care about the leaving cert that is not true for two main reasons. 1. The leaving cert is not just done to get into college, uni or a job you try to do well for a personal achievement and 2. I will be doing the CAO and UCAS as there is a chance my other thing will not come to me right away.
Hey Craig, just wondering from your profile picture, are you a member or the Red Cross or Order of Malta or some other voluntary service?
Member of the Red Cross, love it.
Hey Craig, fancy meeting you here 🙂
Really passing through Lc support sites, thought blog may come in handy..
Ya English i have to agree with, like we got about 4 or 5 homework questions all last yesr, and now that many in a week..
Guess we all have to work hard for 9 months… it’ll be worth it.
