Why on Earth is learning off essays in Irish/French even a thing?!!! Has it not occurred to the ridiculous department of education to test languages in a way that shows your understanding and ability to speak it rather than test your memory? And in a way that’s useful. We can’t speak our own language but we can produce four pages of learned off rubbish with a few seanfhocail agus nathanna thrown in. The leaving cert is one big test to see if we’ve turned into good robots. It has to change!
