French help!

OK so I’m having problems with french this year, I’m in 5th year and I’m becoming so bad at french since my junior cert teacher (who was an amazing teacher)ย  retired, my new teacher isn’t so bad but she can’t handle the rest of my class (they’re all eejits) so we’re not getting much done each class. Could anyone suggest ways or websites that would help me improve my french and bring my grades up from C’s and B’s to A’s again?

  1. i found looking up french films really helped. esp. with vocabulary. I’d just put on the sub titles and take notes. It’s a nice break even though your studying. look them up on youtube or hmv have loads! some are quite good too! ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Try rosetta stone level 2-3 onwards i found helps with your speaking/conversation with tenses and vocabulary

  3. A website I find really helpful is http://www.skoool.ie ๐Ÿ˜€
… here is straight to the LC French Section … http://www.skoool.ie/senior.asp?id=2692 , there are interactive lessons and also study notes (Study notes found on the right hand side of that page)
And!.. if you go to the ‘podcasts’ tab and click ‘podcasts’ then when on this page click ‘Launch French’ there are tonnes of podcasts to help with the oral exams ๐Ÿ˜€
There is so much else to do on this website! I hope it helps you with your french. Other than this practice exam questions from past exam papers(:
    I hope this helps ๐Ÿ˜€

  4. This is what i’m doing and i’m finding that it helps alot! ๐Ÿ˜€
get your exam papers and do every single comprehension! Have a notebook and a dictionary beside you:
every word that you dont know or are just unsure about write it in your notebook and get the translation! do this with all of the comprehensions and the listening exercises too! if you have the edco exam papers it has the written scripts to all the listening exercises! listen to the cd while reading the script it can help you recognise how words sound different and when you see them youll recognize them in future! write all new words from these exercises in your notebook! read over all the vocab regularly and every now and then get your friend/mam/sister etc to test you on some random words! itll build up your vocab! Hope this helps!
