Lets get Personal

Details are important, aren’t they? Now that I know how speedy Sean and Enda can be with the site I no longer have to worry about the time delay on this message. It is Tuesday 31st of August and 281 days until the Leaving Cert. Exciting isn’t it? I haven’t actually started school yet, I have to wait till Thursday. But anyhow Here’s the dirt on me.

My name is Michael and I live in Co. Clare. Now just to frighten you I’m studying ten subjects for the Leaving Cert. So that’s English, Irish, French, Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Applied Maths, Design and Communications Graphics and Geography. All at higher level. Okay sorry for bragging, I’m going to have so much fun this year.

At the end of it all I want to study Medicine in University. I want to help people, I want to learn (well actually need to learn) and I like science. I don’t know bout you but I regard all my subjects above to be scientific (except the languages). Geography is the science of natural processes, DCG is a branch of geometry which is Maths (the greatest science of all) and Applied Maths is basically physics with a heep of triginometry thrown in.

But the fact that I like science isn’t a good explaination for ten subjects. The truth of the matter is that the Leaving Cert. these days is all about points, the more the better, so I might as well grab as many now while I have the chance. (No way I’m repeating!)

On the up side I’ll have plenty of topics to talk to you guys about!

I think I’ve already mentioned that I like Maths, well The Mathamatical Olympiad is also going on the list of ambitions. This year the International Mathamatical Olympiad is in Amsterdam and if I place in the top six in Ireland I’m there next July. Hmm that’s over 300 days away, I think I’m looking forward to the holidays!!
