Starting out

Hey everyone,

I’m just starting out with this leaving cert thing and I was wondering if it is really that bad???

tbh I am terrified about taking the test and i keep getting depressed even just thinking about it. Im taking 7 subjects and 2 are ordinary level. The course Im looking at is only around 380 points and I really cant see myself passing and with the mocks and oral exams just seems WAY too much!

Is there any kind of study methods that I can try and do to help me just have a positive attitude about it?

  1. hey!
i just started 6th year this year and the one thing i would say is that if you did your study in 5th year you’ll fly through 6th year. if like me though you intended to it last year and didnt then its going to be a little harder and more work. however it is managable though. keep doing your study and pay attention in class. you can only do your best ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. hey..
I know exactly how you’re feeling having been in the same place last year as you are now..like Amy said, if you have worked in 5th year, you should have no problem in 6th year. However if you’re like me who did literally nothing in 5th year, you do have a lot of work to do. I know it seems like you have a mountain ahead of you but come April/May everything will come together and you’ll be fine, just pay attention and know what’s going on. Keep practicing the past papers cause the same type of questions keep popping up. I’d also advise you to concentrate a lot on your oral exams, they’re worth a lot and for me they brought me up almost a whole grade..! and this year with irish worth 40% it’s a lot at stake! ๐Ÿ™‚ best of luck and remember, there is life after June! ๐Ÿ˜€
