Hello hello hello suitably stressed out fellow LC-ers. I have a secret to share. I did NO study today since school ended. Absolutely none. And I really feel pretty guity…ish. But it was nice getting home, having no homework and just flopping down with a cup of tea and thinking about anything, slowly trying to stop my brain automatically translating everything into Irish…
I feel pretty lucky about the way in which my Irish oral went. The questions were nice and answerable, the examiner was lovely and I got asked my favourite sliocht (G’wan Bidy!).
It’s actually weird how tired I am though. I mean, I certainly wasn’t up all night before cramming like a mad thing. Nor was I lying awake all night or anything like that. But right now I feel as if I actually sat a three and a half hour exam opposed to simply sitting in a room and having a chat in a language I’ve been learning for nearly fourteen years. Mad really when you think about it.
Anyway, first a bit of an apology for what I feel is a half-hearted post, but I’m half asleep at the moment. All in all; oral = nice (well as long as I don’t over analyse it… None of that thanks).
Plus, and yes people hate me for this one, I have no other oral or practicals. Thankfully Latin is not spoken so now I have everything else riding on June… whoo…(?).

I felt the same about mine 😀 Is aoibhinn liom sliocht 5 freisin, ach bhí sliocht 1 agam…”agus m’umbro top?” (wtf). Táim spionta…freisin freisin. I really didn’t think the orals would be this tiring but I guess half of it is nerves.
Screw your sliocht 5…Sliocht 10 is by far the best- I was delighted when she asked it!
I’m pretty sure I was the only person in my (extremely massive) school doing the Connaught sliochts (As it’s in Munster.. go figure) so I was fully expecting bad oul’ Sliocht 7.
But no, Sliocht 10! The easy, extremely short one.

That’s beyond cool! Does it count as a European Language ma-bob in universities such as UCD/ UCC and the likes?
It does! ^_^ And it’s just plain fun. I’m really annoyed at how it’s being slowly squeezed out of our education system. Sigh.
Oh yah, our entire class had ourselves a bit of a bonding session reciting Sliocht 1 after we had all finished. Good times. 🙂
