Leaving Cert Formulae and Tables

The state examinations commission do not allow students to use their own log tables (or formulae and tables) booklets because you could easily insert notes or tips in to them that would go unnoticed. However, all students are entitled to and should ask for the approved, official ‘formulae and tables’ booklet which will be available from the superintendent during exams. The booklet can be downloaded here.

Whether it’s Maths or Science based subjects, it contains almost all of the formulas you will need and is always worth asking for even if you don’t use it, simply because it may help to jog your memory or give you ideas / clues about how to solve something. Also, for some questions, simply writing down a formula is enough to get you attempt marks.
