Oh sure my Saturdays are gone pure thrivin’ boy.

Sorry, had an urge to speak in my best Wexford tone there.. That’s the effect of spending a day anywhere else! I was in UCD today, for Leaving Cert grinds.. It was part of the HEAR / New Era scheme for disadvantaged areas, so my school gets offered places. (I’m pretty sure it’s majority Dublin schools, then the ones in my area.) It involved getting up at 7AM, arriving at UCD at half nine & hanging out with a friend til 11, when it started. I got grinds in Geography, Maths & Biology, had lunch, then English. I really wanted to get Irish but apparently Honours Maths & Irish were scheduled at the same time.. Then there was a workshop on studying. Honestly, I thought it might be much better. English was the subject I didn’t actually apply for, but it turned out to be the best class with really good notes. Biology & Geography seemed as if they were set up more to help people pass rather than get an A? Maths was good aswell but it was on complex numbers, which I haven’t actually done yet. Wow I sound really ungrateful! I’m not, just cranky. We got out early, at twenty past three. The bus back to Wexford left at twenty past three. I missed it which meant I had to wait another two hours! So I managed to actually walk in through my front door (technically fall in. I tripped over a plant pot & shoved my poor dad in through the door. Hahahaha that’s what he gets for not being at the bus stop for me..) around twenty past seven. Twelve hours of my Saturday! Then I was just far too lazy to do anything, so I’ve been lying on the sofa eating the remnants of my sister’s birthday party, with a two year old on my hip bone. I’m tellin’ ya, the excitement just doesn’t stop around here! But anyway, the course will help me get a grant next year, which is definitely appreciated! Either way, I won’t pass up free grinds. Every little helps 🙂
